May 17-18, 2016 -- Neocons back pedophile enabler for president

Neo-conservative Republicans believed that Marco Rubio was going to be their candidate to face Hillary Clinton in November. After Rubio dropped out, Ted Cruz was the default candidate for the neocons. Cruz dropped out of the race after his dismal showing in Indiana.

Neocons will do anything to prevent a Donald Trump presidency, so they are now shopping for a third party conservative candidate designed to peel votes away from Trump and ensure a Hillary Clinton presidency. Several leadings neocons have announced that they will vote for Clinton over Trump. These include arch-neocons Robert Kagan, Eliot Cohen, Dov Kakheim, and Max Boot, all supporters of the neocon strategy of invading and occupying Iraq.

To some neocons, such as William Kristol of the Weekly Standard, there is one potential third party candidate who meets their bill for the White House: Nebraska's junior Republican senator Ben Sasse. And Sasse, who has called for a third party candidate to challenge Trump has floated his own name as just that third party candidate.

But just as Rubio was hurt by a story about his participation in gay-themed "foam parties" in South Beach, Miami and Cruz by information and photographs that linked his Cuban-born father to Lee Harvey Oswald, both stories scooped by WMR, Sasse may have problems with another WMR story.

Sasse is, like Cruz, a committed Christian Dominionist who believes America should become a Christian theocracy. As WMR previously reported on June 9, 2014, it was

during his job in the House page program that Sasse's meteoric political career met its first scandal. One of the members of the House Page Board while Sasse served as a tutor and proctor was Representative Jim Kolbe (R-AZ). Sasse had the responsibility to protect the underage teen House pages from among other threats, predatory members of Congress.

In 1996, while Sasse was a proctor and tutor for the pages, Kolbe, a member of the oversight House Page Board, took two 17-year old male pages on a three-day Independence Day camping trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Kolbe also said he was aware of ex-GOP Rep. Mark Foley's (R-FL) e-mails to underage male pages as early as 2000. However, Foley's indiscretions with the pages reportedly began as early as 1998, while Sasse was still a proctor/tutor. Foley later resigned after it was publicly revealed that he had made sexual advances toward male pages, including attempts to coax them from their dormitory on Capitol Hill.

The Kolbe and Foley House page sex scandals would also taint House Speaker Dennis Hastert. Hastert was later convicted of structuring bank withdrawals to pay hush money to a victim of his own sexual misconduct with underage male members of the high school wrestling team he coached. Hastert was sentenced to 15 months in prison. Many Capitol Hill sources believe that, as speaker, Hastert ordered the House Ethics Committee and the House Page Board to gloss over the sexual misconduct aspects of their "investigations."

Two Cuban would-be GOP presidents partially downed by investigative probe by WMR. Step up to the plate Ben Sasse at your own peril.

Kolbe later stepped down as chairman of the House Page Board after questions were raised about his camping trip with the pages. Sasse, as a proctor and tutor for the pages, had the responsibility of stopping Kolbe from taking the pages out of state for possible illegal purposes.

Sasse was faced with another brush with pederasty and pedophilia as a result of the conviction of the former chief of cyber-security for the Department of Health and Human Services.

In 2014, the chief of cyber-security for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Timothy DeFoggi, was convicted by a jury for the U.S. District Court of Nebraska in Omaha for "
engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, conspiracy to advertise and distribute child pornography, and accessing a computer with intent to view child pornography in connection with his membership in a child pornography website." DeFoggi used the sites, including two called PedoBook and Onion Pedo Video Archive, to traffic in child pornography. The sites were operated in Omaha by Aaron McGrath, who used the Tor anonymity service to cover the tracks of himself and clients like DeFoggi.

Sasse served as the assistant secretary for planning and evaluation at the Department of Health and Human Services from January 2008 to January 2009. Sasse's oversight of HHS programs overlapped for one year with DeFoggi's work within the office of the assistant secretary for administration. The two offices -- planning/evaluation and administration -- worked closely with one another, a fact that placed Sasse, once again, in a job during a major case involving pedophilia.

Sasse's closeness to the House Page and HHS pedophile sex scandals begs the fabled Washington scandal question: "What did Sasse know and when did he know it?"
